We train workers in Frontline Industries such as airports, apartments, and hotels to identify and report the signs of human trafficking at their workplace. There is incredible work being done to intervene for victims and care for survivors of human trafficking. Our unique approach is to concentrate on understanding and changing the environments that enable human trafficking to prosper. By leveraging research and data, we aim to transform the conditions that make human trafficking possible, creating a safer world where exploitation is no longer an option.

To end the cycle of human trafficking in the communities where we all work and live.
Freedom Insight disrupts the criminal business of human trafficking to prevent future exploitation of the most vulnerable. We equip frontline industries to intervene for victims where they are forced to work, move, and sleep.
Human trafficking exists in your community.
It's found in local businesses and especially in what we call Frontline Industries — airports, apartments, and hotels — where trafficking victims are forced to move, work, and sleep every day.
We have observed this Move, Work, Sleep pattern in local trafficking cases, and have created a targeted approach to disrupt this cycle at three points that traffickers rely on daily.

Freedom Insight, formerly known as the Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition, was founded in 2011. In January of 2011 at Harbor Light Church in Fremont, California, the Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition (BAATC) rallied volunteers to plan Freedom Summit 2011. With 1700 attendees, 33 anti-human trafficking organizations, and 28 breakout sessions, involving over 50 speakers/experts in the field, Freedom Summit 2011 is the largest anti-trafficking gathering in the U.S. to date. The overwhelming response encouraged the BAATC to emerge as an official non-profit entity that continues to serve as the respected “backbone” and connective tissue helping individuals, faith communities, and anti-trafficking organizations work effectively together to build a unified response to human trafficking.
In 2020, our name - the Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition (BAATC) - began presenting some challenges. We needed to explain our name at national conferences or when presenting our frontline trainings to airports across the country. People would stop to ask us, “But you’re the Bay Area” with confused expressions on their faces. We knew then that our name just wasn’t fitting anymore.
It was clear that we needed a new name that would accomplish the following:

Freedom Insight, formerly known as the Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition, was founded in 2011. While our name has changed, our mission remains steadfast—now with an expanded focus to make a broader, national impact in the fight against human trafficking.
